Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal / LAA to join our legal team. Someone who is proactive, and capable of managing priorities for a team of busy attorneys. This role offers the chance to thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with a supportive team. The responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare and draft legal documents including summons, complaints, affidavits, discovery, and other pleadings.
  • Assist in managing cases, filings, and scheduling orders in various courts, including bankruptcy court, district court, federal court, and court of appeals.
  • Utilize ECF/Pacer and state court filing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure and other relevant state and federal requirements, including calendaring and monitoring litigation deadlines
  • Develop and document procedures for various legal tasks to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case statuses.
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including maintaining case files, scheduling, and other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of legal administrative experience or as a paralegal, Commercial Litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, knowledge of court proceedings, discovery, and legal terminology. Understanding of the Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure and general court rules.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple calendars, including docketing of court deadlines
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using ECF/Pacer, and Tyler filing systems.
  • Ability to develop and document procedures.
  • Familiar with Clio and Netdocuments (preferred)
