Biography
Ian McCoy is a Minnesota attorney, born and raised. He brings a unique prospective to the legal field, having worked for years in consumer collections before becoming a lawyer. As an attorney, Ian has practiced both the litigation and collections sides of disputes, obtaining judgments as well as foreclosing on properties and garnishing as necessary to make his clients whole. Ian works tireless in civil litigation, prosecuting cases and finding success for his clients at all steps of the process, from the initial pleadings, to summary judgment, at trial, and in collections afterwards.
Ian has expertise in litigating multiple areas of law. He has spent countless hours in housing court, fighting for the rights of landlords in various disputes, including evictions and rent abatements. Ian also has experience litigating construction matters, representing construction firms against property owners and insurance providers. Ian takes joy in representing clients in civil matters, both as a plaintiff and defense attorney, ensuring his clients’ legal rights are protected in all types of civil claims.
Ian spends his free time hiking and enjoying the beauty of greater Minnesota’s parks with his wife, son, and his two dogs. When stranded at home, he is an avid reader of fiction.
